What actually moves the needle in XP Hero, distilled from weeks of player discussion. Written for people in the first three chapters who'd rather not learn it the expensive way.
Link your account today, on one device, then put every gem into soul chests until your first exotic hero. Those two decisions separate players who are still climbing after a month from players who quit with a wiped save or a shop full of half-built weapons.
The five decisions that matter early
- Link the account before you have anything to lose. You start as a guest with no warning. A crash, a reinstall, or a dead battery can wipe a guest save, and there's no normal login screen to get it back. Protect your save
- Follow the quest list in the top right and nothing else. Quests are the biggest XP source and they gate every chapter. Killing a boss only counts when it's your current quest. Chapters & quests
- Gems go to soul chests first, then S weapon chests. Skip exotic and mythic shard chests. Keep just enough for the extra boss-raid tickets each day. Gems
- Build one trait color, never mix. Four or five matching Total Attack Power traits give a synergy bonus that dwarfs any single good roll. Rerolling a matched set can cost you hundreds of millions of power. Traits
- Put your hero's mastery weapon in the main slot yourself. Auto-equip chases raw power and ignores mastery. Weapon skills fire from any slot, so the main slot is only about mastery. Weapons & heroes

What this game is
XP Hero is a mobile action RPG where almost everything is a number that goes up: hero level, weapon level, orbs, traits, stars. There is no offline progress. The community's honest assessment is that it's a grind that rewards patience over cleverness, but a handful of mechanics (synergy, mastery, the gem order, healing math in PvP) make the difference between a slow climb and a stalled one. This guide covers those mechanics for players in Chapters 1 through 3 and skips leaderboard talk, which is dominated by cheaters anyway.
