Traits
Traits: build one color
Synergy is the mechanic most new players miss, and the one that changes fights the most.
Synergy first, individual rolls second
Traits share a symbol (color). Equipping four or five with the same symbol unlocks a synergy bonus that is worth more than any single trait: players put four matching Total Attack Power traits at roughly +200% crit damage, and five at around a 250% attack buff. Five of a kind is almost always better than a stronger mixed set. One player lost about 300M power by rerolling away a three-of-a-kind. Don't reroll a matched set without a plan to get it back.
Trait and synergy points drop from specific enemies in Chapters 2 and 3; attribute points are what you spend on traits.
Which color
- Most experienced players build attack power plus crit damage, then melee or ranged weapon damage depending on the character.
- Orange (Total Attack Power) is the easiest full set to assemble and the one most people recommend to start.
- Blue (crit) is rated the strongest ceiling by some top-league players, but it needs crit-chance rolls, which are harder to land.
- Red (raw attack) is widely called the weakest of the three.
- Health traits are considered wasted without healing (wands) to make the HP matter. Attack speed and healing reduction are the usual candidates to reroll away.
Rolling
Two schools, both from long-time players. One says bank a large pile of green trait stones (tens of thousands) and roll in one batch with auto-roll set to SSS only; they report that reliably produces at least one SSS where rolling as you go produces nothing. The other says the odds are simply low and batching doesn't change them. disputed Either way: the auto-change option auto-rerolls and stops on S, SS or SSS, and you'll be rerolling everything anyway, so only stop for the tier you actually want.
S-tickets guarantee S or better and can roll SS or SSS. They're mostly a paid item (the trait pass is the cheapest source); one player burned five and ended up with a worse set, so they're a lottery ticket with a floor, not a fix.
Presets
The trait screen has preset slots. The safe workflow: save your current set to a preset, roll toward the new one, and if it fails, spend the points to load the old set back. Double-check whether you're pressing Save or Load; several people have overwritten a good set. Some players keep a Cargo Capacity preset just for overnight gold farming and swap back in the morning.
